Our story
How one team became twelve
Told by Paul Donders, founder
1987Germany
Three friends, one company
I founded xpand in Germany in 1987, together with two friends. The German team is still our largest today — trainers, coaches and consultants who walk alongside leaders day after day.
1998Netherlands
Back home, a second company
In 1998 I moved back to the Netherlands with my family and founded our second company: xpand Netherlands. To this day I am a senior partner in our great Dutch team — and it still excites me.
2014South Africa
A third continent
In 2014 we started the xpand South Africa team. I remain involved as a consultant — and the company is in the best of hands: those of managing partners Chantal Ferreira, Cias Ferreira and Gareth Stead.
